NEW UPDATES POST 7

Hey everyone,

I recently started using 4x5 for a photography project I am working on. I wanted to share some images to see what you think. I will try and update this thread every time I get a batch of fresh pictures. But for now here are the first few.

These were shot using a Wista field camera. You do get some funny looks in the street but who cares right!(y)

These are great, I'd like to see some shots using velvia on this camera.

I heard a story from one guy that, told me an elderly lady starting hitting him with her stick when I got out his 4x5, shouting 'we don't want your types round her ruining this area'. Once he opened it up, she realised it was a camera and not what she thought one of those instruments things that architects use when measuring something in the landscape in preparation for a huge building project.

Thanks Natjag, Im sure you noticed where some fix/developer got trapped in the neg slide on the first image, hence the burned line along the edge.

I went out early morning and found that theres no one around to hassel you. I wanted to go out today but its raining. :(

It's all part of the appeal - you don't get that with digital :)

True plus the quality of the image is awesome. Look at it this way...

Many people try and shoot digital and make it look like film, who shoots film and tries to make it look digital?

Couple more for your viewing pleasure...

Obviously they would be alot better with more contrast/more whites, but Im still learning!

I did try a compound (forget what its called) to increase the highlights on the square on building shot. But it slightly over did it so I have not included it for now.

Its all about understanding the zone system!

Thoughts comments?

I know they are not prefect, these are not the best scans but they do give you a good idea as to the finished item.
