I got two shots of predators with their prey today.

Both were tiny, I shot both at 1:1 and still had to crop. In both cases I did not realise that they had prey until I had focused on them.

Jumping spider with a captured fly.


Camera: Nikon D90

Empis or Dance Fly with a midge.

Good captures here, I especially like your second shot of the fly, the focus and dof there are spot on.

First one is also nice, but if being particularly picky would like the focus plain shifted slightly to get more of the foreground legs of the spider in focus, it's slightly shifted to the rear side. Still nice shot though.
 
Thanks Chris, point taken about the focus, however the spider kept moving around, so I was happy to anything in focus at all. :D
