Canon specifies that if a flash gun has a trigger voltage that exceeds 6 Volts (5 volts to be really safe) then the flash can permanently damage the camera.
The miranda CD flashes from what I can find on the net have a trigger voltage the exceeds 6 volts, so I personally wouldn't risk it.
Have a look at the nissen Di 622 flash guns, they can be found under £100 new and for less second hand, they're good and reliable guns.
