Hi

Does anyone have a handy mnemonic for remembering to set up the various bits on the camera when taking a shot. Like: aperture/shutter, iso, focus mode, manual or auto, RAW or JPEG, bracketing, mirror lockup on/off, exposure mode(spot, matrix etc), self timer on/off.

Theres nearly always one bit of that lot I forget and end up with a missed chance or a crap photo! :bang:

Cheers all!

For most shots the majority of those parameters can be left alone. Unless I was shooting something out of the ordinary, things like raw/jpg, bracketing, mirror lockup, manual/auto, exposure mode and self timer would remain in their default setting and I'd only be worrying about ISO, aperture and shutter speed.

True. It would be nice if I could get my camera to switch on with all those set to a default rather than remembering some from last time it was used and setting others back to default.
e.g. It will reset auto bracketing off but will leave small jpeg set if I altered it from RAW to take a few quick shots for upload. Also ISO remains as last set, would be nice if it defaulted to 100 at switch on.
Mirror lockup also remains on, so if I've been out one evening doing sunset landscapes shots on a tripod and next day I put on my telephoto and trying to photo birds, the first shot I take the viewfinder goes dark and nothing happens until I remember Ive still got lockup switched on by which time bird has departed.
See where Im coming from?
