Has anyone got any recommendations about mobile broadband, I’m going to be moving soon and the new place doesn’t have any internet connection so I have been looking at, 3s broadband ready to go starter kit £99 preloaded with 12gb of data allowance, then toping up as needed.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's going to depend - have you checked to make sure you get a good Mobile Broadband signal? If you don't, it will be woefully slow.

Otherwise, then I believe the best deals are with '3' at the moment but get used to dreadful off-shore call centres if you ever need to contact them.

Im trying to connect a 02 broadband stick to my mac, its flashing blue (3g available) and saying it wont connect due to no PPP server :S can any one help ?

Sounds like the software is trying to connect to an APN that the sim card is not provisioned for.

In the software there should be an option to check which APN it is using, you then need to contact O2 support and get them to check what apn's are provisioned on your sim/mobile number
 
I’m on Vodafone 3G and it’s very good. I pay £15 per month with a 3GB per month limit (which I’ve never come close to using). I do live in a good 3G area and get a very stable 7.2 MBS. If you’re in the right area I can recommend this service.

My dad has just signed up to this, he gets it for £7.50 a month as an existing customer. Not had a go with it yet, but the bloke was saying you can get much higher speeds in the south of England than you do in the north. They offer a fast speed modem apparently but they don't sell any up here as there is pretty much no where you can get them top speeds :(

My sister has one with '3' and it seems pretty good, was useful on Holiday down in Cornwall, though it was very picky about when it had a signal or not, sort of like a mm to one side and it would loose the connection :(
 
I've got the '3' mobile pay as you go mobile broadband which is really good.

I currently pay £10 per month for 1gb useage which is plenty for about 3 hours text-based browsing (no videos or music downloading for me). Its no way near as fast as wired broadband but I don't expect it to be.

But as said, if you get a problem, don't be under any impression that their call centre will help you much....
 
I am actually surfing on mobile at the moment as I am away from home. We have three, Tmobile, Three and Vodaphone. Vodaphone is by far the fastest IF you find their few and far between 7.2 areas. Three is pretty wide spread and fairly fast, T mobile unfortunately only has the fastest service in few places although I have found it here in Chelmsford.

I have been using mobile since March 2006

As mentioned earlier check on the provider maps to check out your location
 
My darling wife bought me a 3 Mobile Broadband stick for Christmas, wasn't expecting it but find it excellent. I am away from home a fair bit staying in hotels (at £10 per night for broadband internet connection) and so this will come in very useful for those times I am away from home.

It was a breeze to set up on my Mac - took 5 mins and I was connected. Now, when I want to connect, I simply plug the stick into the USB port and within a few seconds I am connected with a very fast (for mobile) broadband connection.

Very pleased with this thing, very pleased.
 
don't forget 3 use tmobiles broadband network which is why 3 is crap in most places, tmobile users are first in the network usage queue in most areas

Found out the problem. After a hour in the o2 shop we noticed in the settings i had typed in 02 rather than o2 :|
