Money spiders and a vignetting problem

Just been out on the back step and noticed how many money spiders were crawling around out there. Got the camera and setup what I thought would be best to try and capture an image of one.
Here is the result:

Now you may notice that there is a slight vignette on the image. Any ideas what could cause this?

Image resized straight from camera no flash as it's away for chipping so high ISO.

What's that stuck on the front of the Sigma with Elastic Bands?

And.. I'm fairly sure that is a "red spider mite" please correct me if I'm wrong

That would be a reversed Canon EF 35-80mm power zoom on the front.

And yes I think they are red spider mites, around here many people call them money spiders.
