Monopods

I am considering a monopod for use in London areas where tripods are not allowed. (tube, westminster, Canary Wharf etc)

Can anyone recommend something that is a good compromise for weight, short closed length and able to support 5dMkII + 70-200 f/4 IS?

Ideally i would like it to not look like i am wielding a club everywhere i go

I can't as I know nowt about monopods, but what is the aim of having it, if your gonna be there long enough to worry about the weight of holding a camera then your gonna be there long enough to get the same hassle you would as with a tripod?

the rules against tripods are because of the fact it obstructs are large area and can be a tripping hazzard.

Monopods can be classed as a mobility tool too (walking stick)
