After snapping the cat, I spotted the Moon so aimed 90° right and about 40° up. Consecutive shots at the same settings - 1/500th @ f/8. Fuji X-Pro1 and 100-400 + 1.4x telecon, at 400mm (840mm EFL, 35mm). Cropped and sharpened after the resize. Blue one otherwise SOOC, darker one tweaked a little in PSE using levels.

No 1 is a bit mushy, taken in the dusk I assume

No 2, I would increase the contrast and whites/darks to make it more striking.

Both sharp tho'

Yup, both taken at dusk, a couple of seconds apart, hence the lack of contrast.

Thanks for the suggestion of boosting the contrast. Not something I usually do but after lowering the light, in for a penny! Seems to have brought out a touch of colour on the surface as well - no boosted saturation.
