12x10 sec images stacked in sequator. 5d mk 4 16-35 Lens at 16 f2.8. The half moon had just risen giving a lovely glow to the stones. It is interesting how quickly the moon overpowers the Milky Way and how it changes the colour of the night sky. Does anyone know how far you need to be away from light pollution so it does not show, I have read about 100 miles. The glow in the picture is Plymouth about 40 miles away across Dartmoor.

Excellent work, well done indeed :)

Nice pair of shots.

BTW, as the crow flies, Plymouth is a bit under 20 miles from the circle.

Thanks thought it was further always seems a long way when walking That aside is there any true dark sky areas in England, can not off the top of my head think of anywhere that is 100 miles from a city.

You're generally OK 10 miles or so from a city as long as it's behind you (on clear nights). Mist and cloud can play havoc though.
