More price increases !!

Just got back from my local camera shop where they showed me the new Nikon prices, as of the 1st March they will be going up again !!!!.
A few that I looked at that stick in my head,
D3 £3999
D3x £5999
50 f/1.8 £129
70-200 f/2.8 vr £1899
400mm F2.8 VR £ 8199.00
500mm F4 VR £ 7299.00

Again the weak £ against the Yen was the reason for the incerases.
When will it ever stop. !!!!
 
That's utter madness, all that will do is drive more retailers to the wall.

Better start stocking up on lenses now......anyone want to buy my car? :LOL:
 
That sounds bad - glad I got my 70-300AF-S VR just before the first set of increases:woot: Guess I won't be getting anything else for a while now:thumbsdown:
 
Never ending price increases has to eventually be self limiting. It's only killing the golden goose that lays the golden eggs.
 
On my wish list was a Nikon 16-85 which I viewed at warehouse express a few days ago at £388.00, its now £429.00. Dam it.:bonk:
 
Is it just Nikon, or will Canon be joining them again?

Its a shame because its going to slow down the people who want to upgrade their kit. Will be interesting to see how fast they drop the price if the currencies head back part way to where they were with the yen.
 
I bought a Sigma 30mm f1.4 at the end of last week for £270, it is now £375.

Much to the detriment of my bank balance I brought forward my new kit build up. So far I am well ahead (I think) .....

Nikon D90 £709 now £799
70-300 VR £299 now £419
Sigma 10 - 20 £320 now £360 (£479 in Jessops!!!)
SB 600 flash £156 now £220
50 f1.8 £94 now £117 (I only bought this on Friday!)
D60 + 18 - 55 non VR ££269 net of cashback now £340

mmmm I've saved about £420, what can I spend that on.......

Biggest worry really is the Jessops price for the Sigma, if they have just bought new stock and have had to price at that level the others will follow suit when they restock...
