I think I found the 'how to' on youtube, pretty simple really.
Black background, I used 4 stands so I could arrange a black sheet into a 'cubicle' to help stop draughts. Camera on a tripod. I used a single 500w flash pointing right to left, set to about 3/4 power and fitted with 2 sheets of black card to act as baffles to concentrate the light in the centre.
I used between f8 and f11, ISO 100, shutter speed about 1/100th on a 50mm lens.
The smoke was from an incence stick.
Use manual focus, get someone to put a hand where the smoke is and focus on that.
Take lots of shots and keep fingers crossed :), waft your hand under the smoke to help make swirls and direct the smoke.

PP was in PS, very simple, invert the image so you get a 'negative' and play with the hue slider to get a colour that works and these you go.

Inverting tends to make it very grainy, so possibly run it through neatimage, but I like the grain :)

Hope that helps

incredible mate .. really awesome!

going to try this later!

where did you get the incence sticks from

i looked in all the shops local to me but couldnt find any
