Been watching the news on the Isle of Man TT races and was amazed to see an air bag demonstrated. What an amazing improvement for the safety of bikers.
It looks a good idea to me but I gave up motorcycling a long time ago after my first skid. Question is are these available now, if so, are they comfortable to wear, or is it one of those things that just won't catch on because of their bulk.
Are they just incorporated in the clothing gear or are they fitting them to the bikes as well.
Being an ex biker I am just curious.

Could be Matt, the demonstration clip I watched showed the rider deliberately running the bike into a skid and it deployed when he separated from the bike and hit the tarmac.

Is this the one you mean, where the big pink ar*e saves you:nuts:

Not sure I have seen the one the OT is talking about but the one in the pic Wack posted won't do naff all in a Lowside / Highside, I doubt it will help much in a head on either, just catapult you higher, lol - I am no expert though!

anyone else old enough to remeber the TRRL "kneecappers" thing?

IMO and sadly IME the BEST thing to do when involved in a bike crash is to get as far away from the bike as you can. well actually the BEST thing is not to crash in the first place obviously.

not too sure I would like an airbag on my bike
