Hi All,

this is kind of a follow on to my question about Timelapse on a D60. That one has been answered by me buying a D300 :)

Anyways, does anyone have experience of a slow motorized pan head that could be used with timelapse ? A quick google comes up with something like this which sounds ideal but is a bit pricey ...

The timelapse I've seen is 240 shots at 3s interval, or 12 minutes. So the above kind of thing that does one revolution per hour would be in the right ballpark.

I've checked them out but the only motorised ones there are for video cameras ideally. Minimum pan speed of 4° per second. I'm looking for something in the 1/10° per second range (ie one rotation per hour ! )

I think I might just bash away in the shed and make something with a high torque motor and some gearing :) I've seen a 12V motor that's 4rpm, so thats a gearing of 240 to 1 to make it 1 rph.

...Dolly tracks would be next

That's ok I believe they do the other item you are after.
