Now that the track based motorsport season is upon us once again I was out at Oulton Park on Saturday to photograph the first round of the National Legends Championship. This is a great little race series, the cars are very quirky being 5/8 "replicas" inspired by the hot rodded saloons that were raced in America during the 1930s. They all use the same type of Yamaha 1200cc motorcycle engines - no modifications allowed - and races are between 5 and 12 laps with 3 sessions per meeting, which makes it all very competitive and sometimes quite frantic. It was a good day weatherwise - i.e dry, but the light was very changeable which made things interesting.
