This is quite an old shot from over a year ago from Hanningfield reservoir but as I'm new here i'll post it coz its one of my faves

Taken with my 70-300. I got in so close I was near than the minimum foussing point on the lens, about 5 foot!

great shot of the robin Gives me the impression of being a cold time of the year though.

Can I suggest cropping the top and right to reduce the impact of the bright background. General rule is also to make sure that birds have space to fly into. This allows you to crop quite close to his tail. I have taken the liberty of having a go at a couple of options.

Square crop

Standard 3:2 crop. Could actually do with more picture on the left to allow a tighter crop on the right and a little more space above.

Nice shot and better for the cropping - I prefer the 2nd crop I think.

was a very cold February day!

tis a very nice place to visit but you need to put hubble on your camera to get close from the hides!!
