Does anyone know how I can stop word trying to "Americanise" everything ?

The dictionary is set to English (UK) but it insists that words such as "organise" and "realise" should be spelt with a Z, rather than an S. This is something that really p's me off.

It's Office for Mac 2008.

Any help would be greatly appreciated (or the iMac may just get thrown across the office !!)

Not sure if the mac version is the same as the Windows one [probably is]. But if you right click from the highlighted "incorrect" word the menu gives an option to ignore always. Once you've done it for this word it shouldn't bother you again.

It annoys me when Mac software has its own spell checker, Apple put a perfectly good system wide spellchecker on the operating system, so when applications bring their own you have to add a your "incorrect" words to it again.

Steve, if you right click on the word, does it not give the option "Add"? That should add the word to your dictionary. It should also give the options "Ignore" and "Ignore All".

I'm using Office for mac 2011 BTW

I wish, the "Add" is greyed out, and there's no "Ignore" options.....
