Yes
I took this while in the Lake District.

It was growing off the end of a branch and appealed to me.

One of my own criticisms is my aperture setting which was 5.6. What should I have used to get more of the mushroom in focus?

Also, converting to jpeg resulted in a major loss of colour...

Any other C&C welcome...

Hi Andy, any aperture smaller than f/5.6 would give you a greater depth of field and let you get more of it in focus so f/8 , f/11 and onwards. These smaller apertures will mean a slower shutter speed to get the correct exposure though but as long as you are using a tripod or some type of support there shouldn't be any problem.

I like the composition

Cheers, I do have a tendency to use to use either one extreme or the other with most of the photographs I take...
