A question for you web developers and general wonder webbers - I am currently designing a website for a classical musician friend and whilst I can easily do most of the stuff required, one of the requirements is 30-60 second clips of some pieces of music, not for downloading as such, just for listening to online as examples the work. I have got her a fairly substantial hosting package with this in mind and I know I used to be able to do this, but be boogled if I can remember how
She is incredibly well known in her field so it has to be right - the idea will be that for each piece, there will be a button to click and that clip will play. If I just upload the clip to the server and the button is hyperlinked to the clip, will that work? [Not yet tried as only started to get the ball rolling on this today]. Also, what is the best format for the clips, mp3? of something different? Media Player files maybe, though like artists, many of her visitors will probably be using Macs rather than pc, but not all...
For information, I use MS Expression Web for designing [my html is limited and flash/java non existent, hence I have a range of basic templates to build from and redesign and adapt from there]
Any advice appreciated
Thankyou.
