Yes
..is also my 1st attempt at shooting Water Polo
My mate plays for Colchester an invited ma along.

I had to set to 3200 iso to get 1/200 but with a 100-400 lens even that gave me some blur being hanheld.
The high iso obvioulsy led to grain.
These have been put through noiseninja

Anyway any c&c would be appreciated.

First off welcome to the forum :)

Theyre a good set of pics!! Dont look too bad considering they are ISO 3200!! What body were you using??

Hi Purpleclouds

I own a Canon 1D mk2N

I wanted to capture the energy of the sport so wanted some sharp shots of water droplets but not totally frozen in time so a mixture of movement/blur and sharp facials was the aim.

Anyway.... its not easy.
Perhaps use the monopod next time.

I like them :) looks like pretty nasty conditions for shooting in. You have captured the action and factiall expressiong well in my opinion :) I guess a monopod might help a bit, but I am guessing it is never going to be an easy thing to photograph :(

pretty good :) Slight blue cast to them here though. Welcome aboard :)

Thanks for comments

Yes you are right.
I set my WB to fluorescent on the camera and when processed in Lightroom I set the temp to 3800. Perhaps a little cold?
Should have set a custom WB on the night.

I regularly lurk here looking at everyone's photos but decided I must start posting

This is a nice friendly site. (y)

Had a quick play, just put a warming filter through it and tweaked level and sharpening, not great on the low qual jpeg but gives you an idea

Thanks PPP

I can see the improvement.

I shot the whole set in RAW so may re-process a little warmer.

Thanks again.
