to be frankly honest i couldnt give a monkey about owning a ff camera, i must be bottom of the barrell trash in that case as my camera is a 1100d...
FF doesn't have to be expensive. Ever hear of a 5D mkI?
50 has to be 50 to me so does 24 have to be 24
No, that will be me with my 2x crop mega POS micro four thirds gear.
Stop typing on this forum and go out and take some pictures the lot of ya
The best camera is the one you have with you![]()

I'm not sure I've ever seen any elitism on here regarding FF cameras either.

I could go and buy a FF tomorrow, the Ferrari might be a bit more of a challenge, but I have no desire for either to be honest.
I don't know about being elitist but I dare say FF owners are enthused about there camera.
To be fair though, why wouldn't they be????
I remember that first time unboxing my D700 and drooling over the build and being blown away the first time I looked through that massive viewfinder. Everything about it felt miles ahead of the D7000 it replaced.
There is nothing wrong at all with shooting with a crop, I bought a D300 not that long ago myself. However, it is rarely used while my D700 gets used almost every day.
Can you take fantastic images with a cheap camera, absolutely but it is easier with a higher end camera to do so and for me as a non professional the enjoyment of using a higher end camera was well worth the cost difference alone.
I don't believe for a minute than any full frame shooter feels elitist because of the gear that they own especially when you consider what a real photographer can do with very basic gear. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wX76k-chflo

I wouldn't say high-end equates to an easier way to fantastic images - you still have to be a good photographer regardless and to be honest, the tech on low-end cameras these days is closer to the top models than ever before, and in some cases, it exceeds it.... it would be interesting to see if some FF users would be as quick to make the changes now as they were several years ago when crop camera tech wasn't as impressive.
Because they're tools to do a job with.
It's this pointless fawning over gear that makes people think they need to upgrade. Effectively, all you're doing here is trying to show off really isn't it? All the reasons you're saying it's better are not even anything much to do with being FF.. with the exception of viewfinder image size you're going on about build quality.... well, the D300 is beautifully built, and so is the D2x... so basically, why bother coming into this thread and banging on about how great your FF camera is?
Even here... you say there is nothing wrong with shooting a crop sensor... but just can't resist finishing the sentence with telling us it is never used any more... because you use the much superior FF camera instead.
Well.. as a professional, I'd say it makes little practical difference. I use what's appropriate for the job. If it's a light, smaller camera that's needed then a crop sensor camera may well be what I'd use. I really don't see how a higher end camera makes anything easier. With the exception of a larger viewfinder image, how does using a D700 become easier than with a D7000? I'd even argue that the smaller viewfinder image isn't really that much of a handicap.
Then why is your post basically informing us A) How brilliant, and how proud you are of your FF gear, and B) How you never actually use your crop sensor camera any more, and furthermore, C) that it's easier to shoot with a FF camera than a crop sensor camera?
I think you need to re-read what you wrote in the context of someone feeling like they need to upgrade because of all the FF willy waving that's going on...maybe then you'll see why people are feeling like this.

Feel a bit better now knowing my humble camera shares the same battery as a certain FF body which is only slightly less legendary than excalibur, I suspect it was extracted from the very same stone
Yes this was meant as a light hearted comment on the recent FF clamour, but it is slightly worrying that some especially newcomers could be put off thinking you need to spend thousands before producing a decent photo (everyone knows you only really need white lenses or ones with a red ring for that)
A lot of pros (and amateurs) look down on people for no other reason than rubbish photography. Then there's those that look down on amateurs (and pros for that matter) because they don't like or get their style.
That's not really what this thread is about though.
