Clarke, I agree with annao, I think this would look better without the selective colouring.

Hi

Yes it looks much better. I think if you can up the contrast and brightness a bit it will make it look much punchier.

Also next time if you use a flash diffuser or bounce the flash with a speedlight it will produce a softer light and minimise those hot spots on her nose, forehead and cheeks (although you can do this in PS too )
