Okay so I entered my first competition at camera club this evening. It was really exciting to have some of my images looked at by the judging panel and hear what they had to say.

I didn't do that great but I didn't come last either so it's a good start. I feel really motivated to get out and take some more pictures.

Nicely done. I entered my first camera club comp last year and got a 9/20 but that particular judge was removed from the clubs list as he was a complete tool. I didn't let it put me off and ended up coming 3rd overall for the year and scored a 20 in the first comp this year so keep at it and you'll really enjoy it. And you've just reminded me that entries have to be i by tomorrow for the next comp.

i really like the second one... :)

one thing youl find is that club comps can be interesting, one judge can mark it low where as another judge could class it a winner, keep at it, just dont forget to take photos for yourself not for: what would a judge like.

ive entered into two club comps so far, first one bombed badly, the second one i got a full 10 and won, so its swings and roundabouts.

A few of the longer standing members said the same thing to me. One judges diamond is anothers lump of coal.

I've already started planning the pics for my next comp so it certainly hasn't don't anything to put me off.

I only added these to the web versions I posted on Flickr.. However as I've published them under the creative commons agreement I guess there isn't much need for the watermarks..
