Well thanks for all your encouragement. I was kinda hoping for some constructive criticism but it seems I nailed it.

I thought No.3 was a little soft around the nose or does this not matter as long as the eyes are sharp?

All good although I think the flash is a little harsh on the fly... also a live Wasp might have looked bit better

Yeah I agree about the flash.
I have since made a diffuser to fit on my 430EXII which directs the light towards the end of the lens and has part of an Asda carrier bag taped over the end to diffuse the light. I used this on the crane fly shots.
