This is one of the first photos taken of my dog Lucy with my new Nikon D40

Nice shot alison of a great breed of dog, nice focus on the eye, the background is a wee bit distracting though.

Thanks Bev for your comment. There's so much to think about isn't there when your taking a piccie, getting the dog to stand still was the hardest!!!

I think the image is great, but crop down to the top of the dogs head to lose the brick wall.

The crop is much better. Like the dogs eyes & you have set yourself a challange getting a spaniel to stay still!
