Name that duck

Can anyone confirm the identity of this duck please? It was swimming at Branston Water Park with mallards but was somewhat smaller and was the only duck with a white breast. Is it just a juvenile mallard?

Possibly a female Goldeneye.

Don't know whether it blinked as you took the pic, but the normally striking eye detail is not there.
Could use a little detail brought out in the white breast.

I think you may be right about it being a mallard cross and there was an all white duck swimming in the area who could have had something to do with it!

Never thought about crossbreeding. That makes things complicated.
