I've been asked to do some portrait photos at work this Sunday of some of the staff's kids. I have a white back drop and have the option of a space in a marquee or a 'showroom' close to a window. I'm going for a look tomorrow to see which will be the better location but would next to a window be better than effectivly a huge 'lightbox'? I don't have any lights just reflectors as this is a new avenue for me.

personally i would use the 'showroom' window light from one side and use a reflector(s) to bounce light back onto the unlit side of the subject. take someone with you to try some test shots if you can to see how you get on before the real thing

Thanks for the reply, I went this afternoon and the marquee looked dark so I have set the backdrop up in the showroom in front of the window. Looking forward to tomorrow I think lol - all good practice
