nd grad filters

hi guys

new here, just looking for some info on nd grad filters especially the cokin p filters. anyone got a set and getting good results with them. i cant really justify splashing out on the lee filter set and i've heard some mixed reviews for the cokin set. i prefer shooting landscapes but most of the time the skies overexposed.would the cokin set be better than nothing or is there another set worth looking at.

Cokin are OK as a cheap starting point, they're better than nothing but they do tend to have a slight magenta cast which is a pain to remove.

Hitech are a bit more expensive than Cokin but not as much as Lee, a lot better quality.

Though I've not used them there is a new player, 84.5mm http://www.84dot5mm.com/

Finally keep an eye on ebay, occasionally a set of Lee filters appears cheap, you've just got to grab them when they do.

Hitech is probably the best compromise, I can't see any reason to buy Lee when the quality is nearly same

I started with Cokin, then Hitech and now Lee. Unfortunately you get what you pay for, although the Lee ones are very expensive.
If you buy Hitech filters, to keep costs down, buy a Cokin filter and a Kood adpator, which are a good bit cheaper than the Hitech ones.

i use HiTech and is great. You can buy cheap adapter on ebay and it works just the same ......... Filter holder wise i can't see the difference between Cokin holder and some cheap ebay Cokin Holder.
