The problem is the building is in the shadow. Try again at a different time of the day, and maybe even before dawn / after sunset. Also try to find some background interest.
I'm not entirely sure about these, they look over saturated and as a result you can't really see the detail on the stone masonry. The black and white one isn't bad, but the bit on the left is a little distracting for me.
cheers guys,appreciate your honesty..and i think your right..not my best efforts,and if i'm honest..this was a quick detour on my way home from swansea marina.the monastery was closed,so no access available apart from outside,where a 4ft fence prevents you getting in there,so shots taken outside,and unfortunately,as said..was heavily in shadow.i will pay another visit there as it's local to me,but when the conditions are better suited.
