Need a lead to connect a laptop to a 42in screen TV with sound

As the title says really i'm after a lead to connect my laptop to my 42in screen TV but i want the sound to also come through the TV, i've done a search but can only come up with VGA to VGA cable which doesn't give me the sound through the TV, any advice please, many thanks in advance

HDMI cable.

That's pretty much the only 1 cable solution.

Normally 3 options, depending on the laptop output

• HDMI if laptop has HDMI out. (Note some computers can't output sound over HDMI)
• VGA cable with a second 3.5mm cable (headphone connector) at both ends. The TV normally has a 3.5mm stereo in somewhere on the backpanel. Connect to headphone out.
• If laptop had DVI out, DVI->HDMI adapter and second 3.5mm cable (DVI doesn't do audio).
