Beginner Need feedback

Technically it's a bit of a mess, but I like it for all that. It has an emerging from the underworld kind of feel.

If that was your intention, great.

What were you looking to achieve?

Technically it's a bit of a mess

:agree: It is vastly underexposed, in fact is the lenscap still on?. But seriously, try setting the camera to bracketed exposures and then you should have a series of three images with different exposure levels. (y)

It's good but maybe experiment in this direction

but it's not too sharpe so you need to adapt to make that into a positive

Reminds me of this.

I actually like this one a lot. Having to search for the dog appeals to me. If this is what you were after you've done well.

If it isn't you've already received some guidance (y)

Cheers.

Thank u all... I was actually attempting to highlight partial face and give it a noir look for the visual appeal... Sharpness is missing... I will work on it .... Thanks :)

I couldnt spot anything in the first photo. It was only after it was brightened a little in the edit that I could see it was a dog. But then again I'm on my iphone.

I'd be tempted to reshoot with a much brighter light at the left side of the photo brightening the face more resulting in a sharper shot while keeping the other side in shadow. :)
