My hiking gearh as now arrived by post today and very excited. I am thinking of upgrading my tripod and rucksack to something a bit lighter and more substantial.
My gear:
-450D
-Canon 70-200 f4/l
-Tokina 11-16mm
- 3 Lee filters in filter pouch
-Accessories such as batteries, cards and other filters.
By that I mean I'd like a bag to be able to carry a tripod and pouch on the outside to hold a bottle / flask. I would also like the bag to contain all of my gear if possible and be somewhat water proof/resistant. I have no problem using a pull on cover for it.
I currently use a Flipside 300 bag. I'd also like the rucksack to perhaps have room to put sum waterproof pants in. Maybe a Tamrac Adventurer? Maybe I am wanting to much from a rucksack.
I currently use a Redsnapper tripod - rs283 and rsh-12 ball head. Weight is around 2640KG. I think am right about that. I love the tripod but can be a bit weighty when going up hills for hours.
I would like options for tripods of carbon fibre, but sturdy. I wont be using 500mm lens or anything like that - generally the gear that I have listed above. Either panning head or ball head - whatever is lighter. I will be taking images in perhaps windy conditions so has to withstand that as much as possible. Budget could be up to £250. Stretched if tripod is special - obviously if can be cheaper then that's better.
Might stick with the gear that I have, but just like to see the options available and then maybe visit a store and check them out in person.
Thanks all
