Hello,

I'll admit it, I know nothing about lighting as it's never really been an issue for me but is now starting to pose a problem.

Can someone please advise me on a set up for lighting up a mannequin which would be situated in the corner of a bedroom, due to down-sizing :(.

Nothing too flash please, as I haven't got much to spend on lighting at the moment. I've no idea how much it would cost, but could probably set aside around £50 for now.

Thanks in advance,
Joshua.

How much of a mannequin do you want to light up.

Have a look at this link http://uk.fotopunto.com/articulo-exp...ing-schemes_60 (thank tiler65 for this link, another thread).

Have you got any lighting sources at the moment?

I expect a single flash will do, with a soft box/umbrella and refector. All depends on what you want the photos for etc

It would have to be the whole thing as best as possible.

The link's not working for some reason .

I don't have anything at the moment, just getting by with a standard flash!!

The photos would be for eBay auctions and my website so would have to look quite professional.

Strange i dont know why that did not work.

here is is again hopefully that will work this time. It explains about using a single strobe for lighting people.

what flash have you got at the moment?

Thanks, what a great read!!

That's given me all the help that I need. Just got to find it all on the cheap now .

Just the regular flash on my TZ5 so nothing special at all.

Thinking of getting a DSLR in the near future though...

Cool, here is another good link. It is very helpful for understanding strob photopgraphy.

You could also look at lamps, with day light bulbs in if you want. 4 or 5 lamps then you could put a diffuser (greaseproof paper) over them and move them closer/further away from the object to get the lighting required. i will try and find a post about it. Im pretty sure there is one here some where.
