Until recently I had a 'home/office' network linking my laptop with two desktops, (all running Windows XP), a NAS with 2 x 500GB drives and a DVR (digital video recorder for CCTV).
The computers all run through a wired router/modem with an additional 4-port unit attached and all computers access the Internet via the router/modem.
Then came the change of laptop and the addition of Windows 7 Ultimate into the mix. From the new laptop I can 'ping' both desktops, view the DVR, access the router Admin and the NAS Admin and access the Internet but I have lost the network connection insofar as I cannot view the desktops or the NAS.
The desktops continue to access the Internet without issues and can view and work with each other, the DVR and the NAS.
I have tried the network setup wizard by using a USB drive created from one of the desktops but when attempting to configure it on the laptop it fails.
So, can I network XP PC's with a Win7 laptop?
If I can, what do I need to do?
TIA
