New battery or laptop?

Hi,
I have a Sony laptop, about 2 years old. The battery performance is now dire, perhaps less than 20 mins on full charge. Replacement cost seems to be in the 60-100 quid range and i wonder whether its really worth it?
My thinking is that this has a 140GB drive of which 40 is free, the screen is also quite difficult to view, you have to get the angle right in two planes to view images.
So my question is, new battery or new laptop? Ideas/recommendations welcomed!

I had a similar problem with my laptop. Mine was a 3 year old MacBook with a 40gb hard drive that is full to the brim, though.

I ended up going for a new battery and power cable (both knackered) for around £100. The reason? Well I decided that if I wanted another laptop it would need to be another MacBook (or even Macbook Pro) and that I'd basically be using this as an excuse to spend money I don't have.

I'll still need an external hard drive to increase my storage capacity, but if I can get another couple of years use out of it I'll then buy another and still have my external hard drive?

In short, I think the biggest factor in your decision seems to be the poor screen. If that's making things difficult for you and you can afford the replacement then do it :)
