New camera not focusing with certian lens

Lo all, I recently bought a used 40d with 2 lenses and the sigma last night started acting really odd, first off it wouldn't autofocus and looking thought the viewfinder was darker than usual. I tried the canon lens that came with it and that's fine. Is it borked?

What sigma lens is it? Some older ones do have issues, as they aren't always chipped for DSLRs.

I have never been happy with Sigma lenses so now prefer to use the camera manufactures own makes.

each to there own, many people are happy to use them as they make some quality lenses and not only that lenses that nikon dont make,or canon.

I own two sigma lenses and one Nikon...
And not because I couldnt afford all Nikon.
