I'm new here although have been reading up on all the great advice to be found on TP for the last couple of weeks. Today I took the plunge and ordered my first DSLR.
It was always going to be a Canon as we have 2 lenses from our old EOS SLR. It was a toss-up between the 550d and 50d and in the end I was swayed by the reported better build quality and waterproof-edness of the 50d.
Yesterday I found a nice second hand 50d at MPB (who I've seen recommended on here) and ordered it. Can't wait to get my hands on it and see what all this DSLR fuss is about
This is likely to be a long term camera, so is it worthwhile getting a screen protector? If so, what would anyone recommend?
Looking forward to being able to post some decent photos in the not-too-distant future!
