New digital camera replacement? (non slr, allowed?)

Hey I have managed to somehow loose my mums digital camera, was some kind of a 8mega pixel, nikon coolpix. Any ideas what good out around that kind of spec that you could recomend? Anywhere between £200-300.


Any help appreciated!

If its a simple point 'n' shoot Canon Ixus range or something with a bigger zoom Panasonic TZ5.
 
Have a look at the Nikon P80 and the Cannon G9 they should be available in the price range..

No I have'nt used it but know others that have and they are very impressed with it. It gets good reviews aswell, just google it. If you want slr features the Canon G9 is well worth a look. (y)

Argos was selling the FZ3 for £150 which also gets good reviews I nearly bought one but went for the Canon A710IS because it had more manual controls. (y)
