new lens

Can someone recommend me a good walk around lens. I have the Sigma 24-70mm which although its a super lens sometimes I could do with just a little more reach without having to resort to my Bigma.

depend do you need wider then 24 or not. I'm no canon guy but they do have a 24-105 f4 L which suppose to be pretty good.

Hi yeah I know whats out there and was looking at this lens so if anyones got it can they tell me how they rate it. I don't need to go any wider as have wide angle lens.

nothing wrong with a bigma 50-500 as a walk about
serious focul range
I have as a street lens an 18-270vc pzd tamron

Hiya Tony yeah I do have the Bigma on most of the time as I love it it's just sometimes its not practical. I'd like something thats not such a jump down and maybe the 24-105mm might do

Canon 18-135 maybe? Good walk about lens with reasonable IQ.

I like the look of the Canon 24-105mm that would be enough to cover what I want so I think I'll go down that route

I loved my 50-150mm f2.8 sigma
not the OS version, but the smaller, lighter and cheaper one
gives you about 70-200 mm equiv on a 7D and it's great for candids and also allows for some creativity.
really miss it now. only sold it because of limited funds and an upgrade

or the Canon 28-135 IS, similar to what you have but just some more reach

Thank you but I woul like to kinda stay at the 24mm end limit of things so thats why I'm leaning towards the 24-135mm

The 24-105 is excellent. Every time I try to move to a 24-70 I keep going back to it for the flexibility.
