Just thought I would give you all a heads -up in case it hasn't been mentioned before.
There is a pretty good deal floating about on t'internet (usual supects such as ebuyer and Play) with the Asus Eee portable HDD -it's a 30g 1.8" HDD with USB 2. It's about the size of a deep makeup compact and best of all it only cost me £25 (including postage).
I was looking around for USB SSD's but this works out quite a bit cheaper and, in my case, it pairs up well with the NC-10 netbook that I use when out and about.
