New printer needed

The HP has finally given up the ghost - is it worth getting a new printer for printing up to A4 and if so what would folk recommend (gear below - printing from Sony Vaio). Or is it more cost effective to use Photobox or even a local printer????

Thoughts/views much appreciated - sorry if this has been done to death.

I used photobox for a couple of years but then their quality started to drop which I didn't see until customers complained. I explored various options and then saw a Canon Pro9000 in action and bought one (credit card said ouch !). But shop around as the price varies a lot - same goes for the cartridges.

If you have the budget get one with 2 blacks as that will do away with the green cast?
