Welcome Neil and lovely dog. The shot seems a bit out of focus though. Crystal clear eyes are the hallmark of a good animal shot. But as he is a willing victim errr model you shouldn't have a problem trying again.

May I ask what your aperature and speed was?

Definatley OOF. You missed. :shrug: it happens. I should know.. if the wastebin on the desktop was a physical thing I'd be paying ££££ to get it emptied every week.

That is on beautiful dog you have their Neil.

Your shot looks quite noisy as well, as being OOF. Not sure if it's the Jpeg compression or not but if it's from the camera, try using a lower ISO to get a sharper image
