Newbe Filter Question

Totally agree BigYin. My own wedding was this year, and the photos are really important. I wouldn't ask a friend to exclusively shoot my wedding, because I wouldn't want to put that much pressure on them, and because it's important to get the results you want. In our case, even the 'Pro' wasn't amazing! So it's nice to have guests share their photos with you - some nice cadids from a couple of DSLR owning friends helped us to complete our albums.

I guess what I mean is that I do agree with you guys. If the couple want a professional album then they also need a pro shooting their wedding. If they aren't having a pro for whatever reason, they need their expectations managing. If they're shifting the cost of hiring a pro on to their friend (worry, hiring lenses etc), then it's just unfair!

I am sorry for being brief. I am doing a wedding in a local church for a friend who has to cut costs. I have shot in the church before for a christening. It was fine and I was using a 55mm 4.5-5. So its not too dark. I now have a 50mm 1.8. This will do for inside shots I hope. It should. I do have a 300mm f4.5. I will probably end up not using this. I have a 430EX flash. I will borrow a back up 450D and lens. And anything they want. I have photoshop and I am very handy with it.

No I am not a beginner photographer. I have had a 400d for 2 years. I have done some press photography. Have have worked with a photo editor of a magazine for a week, to see what it was like. I am good at arranging shots. I have gotten books on Wedding photography. I am studying it and its going well! I will make a list and do a pre shoot with the bride and groom. If they are not happy, fine.

I am not prepared to spend lots of money on renting gear and insurance ect. This is a wedding for a friend. I cant go to such expense.

I am going to create an album for them on blurb or something similar. Canvas prints its up to them.

Dave, MatW, Steve, TheBigYin, Arkady and anyone who posted here I really appreciate your help and opinions so far
