Newbie needs his first DSLR kit (quite urgent)

I've got no idea if that would be a good deal for £200 as I'm a Canon whore but there are plenty of 350D and a few 400D that go for that sort of money, usually with a kit lens.

I assume you have read the review here
 
Personally for the price I would be looking at canon or nikon equivalent, purely because of the amount of second hand lenses etc there are around.
 
a canon or nikon is probably a better bet , this is not saying there is anything wrong with others, for nikon and canon there is a wide range of lenses for both brands . it all depends on how far you are giong to take this hobby,
but once your get a brand of camera and a few lenses , it very expensive to change (lens, Accessories) ect.

Cheers guys i appreciate the feedback. I guess i was seduced by the though of having 2 zooms (especially the 300mm).

I've had a look at the TP listing Ian, its within my reach, but just not quite yet!
Im still getting money together so in a month i'll be able to spend 250-300.

Im just paranoid that when i've got the money there will be no one selling cameras in the whole world:gag:

Just gotta be patient (which i hate)

there is a D60 going for £190 in the fs atm, then pick up a 18-55mm for £40, job done.
There will always be stuff for sale at bargain prices, so chill :)
 
hhhmm indeed, could be a blessing in disguise though, it might keep people away long enough for me to get the money together. Plus it keeps the price down. I bought an as-new electric guitar a month ago for £25....it was pink (still is infact) maybe i have no shame?

i could always respray it couldnt i?
