The D700 is a full frame camera, therefore needs lenses designed to work with such. Pretty much all AF-D lenses are FX lenses (might even be all of them, but I havent checked), but if you see DX in the title, then just remember the lens will either vignette (cause big dark areas in the corners of the image) or the D700 has a DX mode, where its crops the image in camera automaticly to remove the vignette, but in doing so reduces the image quality to 5 Mp instead of the usual 12Mp.
