Hey guys

again i ask the same question so i get a 100% confirmation after your feedback of the lens i will go and get.

I did want the 70 - 200 Sigma 2.8 but im still tempted by the F4

Any takers

Just note i have the same amount of money for both

Advice please?

Depends what you want the lens for, f4 light weight, sharp but f2.8 opens up more opportunites for shots indoors.

Im looking into portrait photography but want the best results in image quality possible

Would go with the sigma 70-200mm f2.8 or if you had the extra $$$ canon 70-200mm f2.8 (non IS) for portrait work

Canon 70-200mm f4 L (non IS) £539
Canon 70-200mm f4 IS L £939
Canon 70-200mm f2.8 L (non IS) £949
Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 (non IS) £600

on some other lenses that might fit your requirements

Thanks for the supporting link that will come in handy

Many Thanks Pete

The 70-200 f/4 is very sharp and versatile, love mine, it knocks spots off my 24-70 f/2.8.

It's that good that I would still keep it even if I had the 70-200 f/2.8 IS, for the money it's a top buy.

just the cost

I like the f4 and everytime i used it i had great results

Hmmmm

Jessops tomorrow

Think i will get that lens but i am also wanting the 10 - 22 mm so im not sure what to get first

It doesnt matter which one you get you'll always want the other!! i went 10-22, 24-105 and im gagging for a 70-200 f4 IS. Must be patient though!!!

Depends on what other lenses you currently have and which you can see you making the most use of over the summer period ? (y)

Well I have just taken hold of a 70-200 2.8 siggy and so far its very very good;) mind you ive only used it a couple of times..

You have taste my man! I have both the 70-200 F4 IS and the 10-22 and they're both stunning lenses.

I personally have the 10-22 and the 70-200 F4 (Non IS) and they absolutely rock.

Much better than the sigmas in build quality, and the iq is good. I'd personally have the canon any day, but f2.8 is more useful for portrait work.

Is this 70-200L f/4 considered sharper than the f/2.8 then?

The 70-200mm f4 IS did get some spectacular reviews when it first came out and suggestion were that it was very much on par with the f2.8 IS version, but thats what I read from the reviews.
