My two year old 2408WFP developed a fault last week, a vertical yellow line to the right of the screen which disappears after it has been on for a while. A quick google told me it was a common fault.

Checked with the company where I bought it (PCBuyIt) and they confirmed it had a 'Pixel Perfect' 3 year warranty with Dell.

Call Dell Friday afternoon, no arguments a re-furbed replacement would be dispatched for Monday. A courtesy call Friday night from Dell to confirm dispatch.

Today, Monday, I'm snowed in working from home. Shortly after lunch a knock at the door and there is a very soggy courier who has walked a few hundred yards from the nearest passable road. At his feet is a brand new U2410 to replace my knackered 2408WFP.

A big thumbs up to all involved  Well chuffed with the outcome.

The replacement is thus far spot on, no dead pixels or sub-pixels and after a bit of a clart with calibration it is looking good.

A lot of people give Dell a hard time, but I've never had a problem with them. Their products are good, and normally after sales is excellent (as in your case).

Dell support have been nothing short of superb in every respect for the three years we've had their laptops for.... couldn't fault them in any way.

A friend of mine swears by Dell laptops, he will not buy anything else.

A U2410 is a nice upgrade as well !

Indeed it is. It was a bit of a b****r to calibrate, kept coming out a bit too warm. Happy with it now though. Only downside is that it doesn't have a built in CF Reader which the 2408 did. Though all things considered, I'm not complaining.

Good outcome :)

I hope you offered the courier a cuppa?

I did but the poor chap was rushed off his feet. (I was almost going to say he was snowed under but it was a terrible pun).

It's nice to hear about good customer service.

I'm not sure I could live without my 2408's CF reader though!
