nothing special here im afraid...we went for the day out rater than a photo opportunity! i wanted the tower to be sharp...and the people to be blurred but i didnt know how to do it!! will have to have another play in AV mode i think!

To achieve the shallow depth of field you wanted you'd need to use a wider aperture (smaller f/number).

thanks!!! everytime i change the aperture...its the background that blurs.....but in this case i wanted the background to be sharp! im guessing i should manual focus on the tower?

You should of use the focus dot and just focus on the tower then the people would of been blurred
