Nikon 105mm focus ring question

Hi, just a quick question on the 105mm, when I manually focus and rotate the focus ring the tension changes when I reach the extremes (get stiffer), but then it continues to rotate.

Is this how it is or is it a fault?

It's normal. All AF-S lenses do the same. (Well, all mine do anyway!)
