Hi guys

May seem a pretty simple thing but can you point me in the right direction/place to buy the correct lens hood for the above Lens please, it’s an f/4 …

Last time I ordered a lens hood from Wax I ordered the wrong one for a 70-200 … BTW the proper Nikon hood I bought last time was not the cheapest either…. Are they just the same material if ordered from eBay and Amazon ? or are those hoods Cheapo knock off’s …

thanks in advance

The correct hood, according to the usermanual, is LC-77.

Genuine Nikon ones are, as you might expect, somewhat more expensive than the after-market versions. There may be some differences between genuine and third-party hoods but I doubt they will be detrimental to your images. One point that you should check is that the inner surface of the hood should be matt to prevent light being reflected off it into the lens itself.

Personally I have purchased 3rd party hoods from eBa y and other places in the past and not had any issues.

Hope that helps :)

The LC-77 is the lens cap, not the hood. You need the HB-23.
