In a triumph of gadget-greed over common sense, I've just agreed to part with £300 for an IR-converted D70, blowing my budget for a tripod and head in one fell swoop. My current lens collection is an 18-105VR, a 70-300VR and a 35mm.
I've heard the 70-300 should be OK for IR, but I'll need something wider for landscapes and I've heard mixed reviews about the 18-105. Does anyone have experience of using it?
Of course, I can test it when the camera arrives, but if I know it'll be poor I can start my hunt for a used 16-85VR now...
